Washington. The world’s richest man Elon Musk’s SpaceX is effectively expanding Internet services on planes. Elon Musk’s company has started Starlink Aviation service, under which passengers will get the benefit of WiFi service. The company is providing an airplane antenna of $ 150,000 (about Rs 1,24,44,075).

Musk tweeted that, the Internet in the airplane will be the same as you access the Internet at home. He told in his next tweet that a Starlink video call was also made from one plane to another, which went on without any interruption.

The company said on its website, “Starlink Aviation will start deliveries of the terminals in mid-2023.” Reports say that the hardware will cost $150,000 (about Rs 1,24,44,075) for the broadband setup. This cost has been kept for the antenna, it will be installed in the aircraft so that the network signal is good. The company claims that each terminal will get internet speed of 350Mbps for video calls and online gaming. The company says that this speed is enough to do video calls, online gaming, virtual private networks and all internet related tasks on the plane.

The booking price of this service is $ 5,000 which is around Rs 4,14,621. Companies like Starlink and OneWeb are providing internet service through satellites. Earlier this week, OneWeb announced an agreement with Panasonic Avionics for in-flight broadband, which will see airlines provide broadband service to about 70 of OneWeb’s airlines by the middle of 2023.
