The police came to know about the illegal keeping of animals from the house when a patient mistakenly set off a fire alarm in their house. After this the fire brigade vehicle reached outside the house. This woman was meeting some patients in her house at that time. The firefighters were stunned as soon as they reached here.

According to NBC New York, 100,000 cockroaches were found in the house, including 118 rabbits, 150 birds, seven turtles, three snakes and 15 cats. Officials said that the air in the house was so harmful that no one could stay inside for long. So the rescue team was forced to wear a hez-mat suit.
