New York Attorney General sues Donald Trump for fraud in family business

Two Trump Organization officials, Alan Weiselberg and Jeffrey McConkey, were named as defendants, along with the former president and his eldest children, Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump.

The lawsuit has been brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, the state’s senior-most attorney, after a three-year civil investigation. James said in a statement that with the help of his children and senior officials at the Trump Organization, Donald Trump unfairly amplified billions of dollars in wealth to unfairly enrich himself and betray the system. He says Donald Trump is Trump’s own apartment in Trump Tower, which was valued at $327m (£288m). It was among the properties whose values ​​were allegedly misrepresented.
