Washington. The tension between America and China may end now. For this, US President Joe Biden can take his step forward. Biden himself has indicated this. The US president said on Wednesday that he is planning a possible meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss the self-governing island of Taiwan, trade policies and Beijing’s ties with Russia.

The White House said it was working with Chinese officials to arrange a meeting between Biden and Jinping on the sidelines of next week’s G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, according to the AP. But the two sides have not yet confirmed whether the meeting will take place or not. Biden told the media at a press conference at the White House that he had a lot to discuss with Jinping. Because US-China relations have worsened in recent months.

It is worth noting that recently China has vocally criticized the attitude of the Biden administration towards Taiwan. The Chinese president also suggested that Washington seeks to curb Beijing’s growing influence as it tries to overtake the US as the world’s No. 1 economy. Tensions between the two countries regarding Taiwan have increased significantly since House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan in August.

US President Biden further said that he is not prepared to make ‘any fundamental concessions’ regarding the United States’ Taiwan doctrine. Biden further said that ‘when we meet, what is our boundary line? Will talk about it. With this will determine whether they will further conflict with each other or not.’
