In the year 2014, it was estimated that every person in New York had two rats, which means that the rat population here is now about 18 million. To get rid of rats, the government of New York is looking to hire an expert. And the good candidate will be paid up to $ 170,000 i.e. about one crore 13 lakh rupees for this.

According to the British newspaper Daily Mail, advertisements have been given in the newspaper for this. Accordingly, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree. Also, such people must have the necessary determination to fight the real enemy. And such experts should be of killer instinct. The ad further reads, ‘Clever, voracious, and prolific, the rats of New York City are renowned for their survival skills, but they don’t run this city – we do.’

Up to 70% of complaints about rats were acted upon during the first eight months of 2022 compared to two years ago. New laws are also being introduced to stop the rat menace which forbids New Yorkers from taking out their garbage before 8 pm. Right now, garbage can be dumped outside the houses anytime after 4 pm.
