US report Praise Indian govt efforts against terrorist organisations

Washington. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the action of the Central Government to root out the terrorists from the country is now being appreciated at the global level. A US report has told how the Indian government has made necessary efforts to eliminate the terrorists. According to the US Bureau of Counterterrorism’s ‘Country Reports on Terrorism 2021: India’, the Indian government has made significant efforts to detect, disrupt and degrade the operations of terrorist organizations.

According to the report, in 2021, militancy affected the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, northeastern states and parts of central India. Apart from this, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen, ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen and Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen are active terrorist groups in Bangladesh, India.

2021 saw a change in the strategy of terrorists. They carried out a large number of attacks on civilians and began to use IEDs more and more, including an explosive attack using a drone at an air force base. In October 2021, the US, India held the 18th meeting of the Counter Terrorism Joint Working Group and in November 2021, India hosted the second Quad Counter Terrorism meeting with Australia and Japan.

According to the ‘Country Reports on Terrorism 2021: India’ report, India not only responds promptly to US requests for information related to terrorism investigations, but also tries to minimize threats in response to US information. Cooperative efforts are ongoing to dismantle terrorist groups and alerts are issued to US authorities against potential threats to the United States and US interests.
