New Delhi. A heart-wrenching incident has come to the fore from America. Here a two-year-old child left in a car died due to extreme heat (Child Died in Car). The incident took place on February 27 in Atmore, Alabama. Regarding this incident, the Advocacy Group has said that this is the first hot car death of the year 2023 in America. The child’s father, 51-year-old Sean Rounceval, has been charged with negligent homicide.

According to the report of USA Today, it is being said that death due to heat in the car is rare in the month of February. Since 1998, only six such cases have been reported in February. Describing the incident, the police said that the child was left in the car for eight hours instead of being dropped by the father at the daycare. Police said Rounceval was arrested after Atmore Community Hospital contacted police. Shortly after being taken to the hospital, the doctors declared the child dead.

The National Weather Service in the US said the temperature in Atmore was 80 °F (26.6 °C). But noheatstroke.org said that inside a hot car, the temperature can reach 123 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius) in just over an hour. The website explained, ‘When the body’s core temperature reaches 107 degrees or higher, cells are damaged and internal organs begin to shut down. This sequence can cause rapid death.

An advocacy group in the US says that 38 children die in hot cars every year across the country. Statistics also show that since 1990, more than 1,052 children have died in hot cars. At the same time, at least 7,300 have survived from different types of injuries.
