China’s spy balloon gathered US military information
‘NBC News’ made a big disclosure, got information from 3 officers
China’s Foreign Ministry gave clarification regarding its balloon

Washington. A Chinese Spy Balloon flying in US airspace was able to gather intelligence from several sensitive military bases and send it to Beijing at the same time. This information was given in a news on Monday. A suspected Chinese spy balloon the size of three buses was spotted in US airspace in late January. ‘NBC News’ quoted three officials as saying in a report that China was able to control the balloon so that it could send the collected information to Beijing in real-time. According to the news, the intelligence that China collected was mostly obtained from electronic signals.

Three officials told that if the US had not made efforts to stop the information being sent from this balloon, then China could have collected a lot of intelligence from sensitive areas. According to the Biden administration, this balloon first entered US airspace from Alaska on 28 January. Over the next four days, it flew over Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, where some of America’s nuclear weapons are stored. This development increased the already ongoing tension between America and China. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken postponed his visit to Beijing in February.

The balloon had lost its way, was left for meteorological research
In its response, Beijing said that the balloon was of civilian purposes and had strayed from its intended path. “This balloon is from China and is mainly used for meteorological research,” a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said in a statement posted on the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s website. Significantly, on February 4, the US shot down a Chinese spy balloon in the Atlantic Ocean off the South Carolina coast. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had said, “On the instructions of President Joe Biden, this afternoon a fighter jet shot down a Chinese spy balloon over the sea off the South Carolina coast in US airspace.”
