The Frying Pan Hotel is located 32 miles (52 km) off the east coast of North Carolina, USA. It stands on four pillars 135 feet (41 m) above sea level.

The Frying Pan Hotel is not for the faint of heart or those afraid of heights. This is not the type of hotel where you will be given a red carpet welcome upon check-in. To reach here, you will either have to take a lift from a helicopter or use a boat.

There are double decker stainless grating walkways all around the tower. Going here means that you are going to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. From here you will be able to see the waves of water and the sunset.

The platform of the tower has two floors. There is a living area which includes seven bedrooms, kitchen, storeroom, office, recreation area and toilet facilities. While above is the helipad.

There is a beautiful stainless steel kitchen. Here you can prepare your own food or book the hotel’s chef. The Frying Pan Tower evolved as a ship’s security guard to notify ocean-going vessels of danger, but in 2010, Richard Neal of Oklahoma set out to change that completely.

There are also hungry sharks below the hotel, but there’s nothing to be alarmed about, as they really don’t like human flesh. So there is little chance that they will want to taste you. Live footage of the water shows you whether there are sharks or not, so you can dive in.
