New York: The difficulties of former US President Donald Trump are not reducing. The issue of sexual harassment has become a headache for them. A woman told a New York civil trial on Tuesday that Donald Trump sexually assaulted her on a flight in the US in the late 1970s. Jessica Leeds described the alleged assault while testifying in a rape and defamation lawsuit brought against the former president by author Jean Carroll. Trump has denied all allegations of sexual assault and said no action was ever taken on any such claims.

Jessica Leeds told federal court in Manhattan that Trump had put his hand up her skirt in the business class section of a flight to New York in 1978 or 1979. Jessica Leeds first made the allegation in an interview with The New York Times weeks before the 2016 election. Several women accused Trump of sexual misconduct during the voting. Jessica Leeds went public with the allegation after Trump denied sexual assault allegations during a presidential debate with Hillary Clinton.

Leeds was called to testify by Carroll’s attorneys in an attempt to persuade the jury that Trump engaged in a pattern of sexual misconduct. Carroll, 79, has accused Trump of sexually assaulting her in a changing room at the luxury Bergdorf Goodman department store in Manhattan in the mid-1990s. At the same time, Trump has repeatedly denied such allegations.

Carroll filed her lawsuit late last year. The case is one of several legal challenges facing Trump as he seeks a return to the White House in next year’s election. Trump was also accused of secretly paying money to a porn star in 2016. However, last month he was not convicted in this case.
