New Delhi. On the US tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday led a Yogashala organized at the United Nations on the occasion of the ninth Yoga Day. During this program, the PM said that Yoga has come from India but it is free from all kinds of copyrights. There is no patent for it, nor is there any need to pay royalty money in lieu of it. The PM said that yoga comes from India. Like all ancient Indian traditions it is also alive and dynamic. Yoga is a way of life. It is a way of being careful in thoughts and actions. It is a way of living in harmony with oneself, with others and with nature.

During this event, high level officials of the United Nations, diplomats and big personalities from all over the world were present. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during his address, ‘I am happy to see all of you and thank you all for coming here. I am told that almost every nationality is represented here today. Yoga means to join, so you are coming together, this is the expression of another form of yoga.’

International Yoga Day is being celebrated for nine years
The PM said during his speech at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, ‘About nine years ago it was here in the United Nations that I had the honor of proposing to celebrate International Yoga Day on 21 June. Last year, the entire world came together to support India’s proposal to observe 2023 as the International Year of Millets. Millet is a superfood. They promote overall health and are also good for the environment.’
