During the first leg of his visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the International Day of Yoga celebrations at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Addressing the crowd, PM Modi said that Yoga is free from copyright and patent. Representatives from more than 135 countries participated in the yoga program and a Guinness record was created. India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ruchira Kamboj received the award. This was the power of Yoga for the world.

While entering the US Congress, Prime Minister Modi was greeted with thunderous applause. US lawmakers stood in line to shake hands with the Prime Minister of the world’s largest democracy. The applause did not stop and everyone’s eyes were on PM Modi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also gave autographs in the address book of the joint session of US Congressmen at Capitol Hill.
