Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) at an event outlining the shared priorities of India and the US on education and workforce, said that both countries need a ‘pipeline’ of talent to maintain the pace of development. Modi on Wednesday participated in the ‘Skilling for the Future event’ organized by the National Science Foundation (NSF), where he was hosted by First Lady Jill Biden.

Regarding the skill mission of his government, the Prime Minister said that education, skill and innovation are necessary for the bright future of the youth and India has worked in this direction. Addressing the people present in the program, Modi said that the National Education Policy (NEP) has brought together education and skills. More than 5 crore people have been trained under the skill mission and another 1.5 crore people are being trained on latest and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and ‘Blockchain’.

He said that to maintain the pace of development, it is necessary to “ensure the ‘pipeline’ of talent to India and America” and he aims to celebrate this decade as the ‘tech decade’.
