According to the New York Post, Engro Corporation, based in Karachi, Pakistan, said in a statement that 48-year-old British businessman Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Suleman were aboard the missing submarine. Prince Dawood belongs to one of the richest families of Pakistan. He is the Vice-Chairman of Engro and has a textile and fertilizer manufacturing background. According to the World Economic Forum website, he has served on boards of directors in various industries.
He is also a member of the Global Advisory Board of Prince’s Trust International, King Charles III’s charity. The trust said in a statement that his father Hussain was one of the charity’s founding patrons. Prince Dawood and his sons are British. Prince Dawood and his wife Christine also have a daughter, Alina. Will Straw, chief executive of Prince’s Trust International, said in a statement: ‘We are shocked by this terrible news, praying for rescue and we stand with his family during this challenging time.’
