The incident took place on Saturday afternoon near Martha’s Vineyard Airport in West Tisbury, Massachusetts. Massachusetts State Police said that the 79-year-old male pilot’s condition had worsened during the landing of the plane. The Post quoted the state police as saying, ‘During the accident, the aircraft made a difficult landing outside the runway. Due to which the left wing of the aircraft broke in half. However, the officials did not name any of the people on board the plane and said that both have been taken to the hospital. After this, the pilot was hurriedly taken to Boston Hospital.

Suddenly the pilot’s health deteriorated
The Post quoted the police as saying that the female passenger did not suffer any injuries and was discharged from a local hospital. Police said both the pilot and passenger are residents of Connecticut. State police, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the accident. The Post quoted the state police as saying that the plane was removed and taken to a safe place at the airport and the crash site was cleared. A similar accident occurred nearly 24 years earlier when a Piper crash killed John F. Kennedy Jr., his wife Carolyn Bessett, and his sister Lauren Bessett near Martha’s Vineyard.
