New Delhi. A crane carrying a boat collided with the historic Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. According to a CBS News report, a steel beam of the iconic bridge’s structure broke during the incident that came to light on July 19. A video of this incident is going viral on social media. In which it can be seen that a crane is raised when the boat passes under the bridge. Within a few seconds, it appears to be stuck in the track system.
The Brooklyn Bridge was built in the 19th century by John A. It was done by an engineer named Roebling, its construction started in 1869, which was completed in 1883. This bridge connects Manhattan and Brooklyn. The historic Brooklyn Bridge is famous for its stone architecture. There are six lanes for traffic on it. There is also a shared path for pedestrians and cycles. According to the New York Administration’s website, as of 2018, the Brooklyn Bridge was used by approximately 1,16,000 vehicles, 30,000 pedestrians and 3,000 cyclists daily.
