washington, The US has imposed sanctions on two individuals and seven entities, including an Indian national, for working on behalf of and supporting a North Korean state-run animation studio. The US took this action on Friday on the eve of International Human Rights Day and International Anti-Corruption Day. It took this action as an attempt to fix accountability for human rights abuses and corruption around the world.

According to the US State Department, the US has imposed sanctions on two individuals and seven entities for working on behalf of and providing support to the North Korean state-run animation studio ‘SEK Studio’.

The individuals and entities that have been sanctioned include Kim Myang Chol of France, Subhash Jadhav of India, Everlasting Empire Limited of Hong Kong, Tian Feng (Hong Kong) Holding Limited, Fujian Nan Import and Export Company of China, Limited Liability Company Kinotis, Funsaga P Ltd of Singapore, Yangcheng Three Line One Point Animation Co Ltd of China and Quanzhou Yangjin Import & Export Trade Co Ltd of China. The US Treasury Department informed that Jadhav is a director of Funsaga P Ltd and had entered into an agreement with the SEC for the production of an animation project.
