Most of the female students at the school are Latina
Birth rates by teen girls have declined over the past 3 decades in the US, but remain normal among young Hispanic women. Most of the female students at Lincoln Park are Latina. That is, those who are from Latin America and speak Spanish. That’s because 94 percent of the city’s population is Hispanic. Most are low-income and some are Mexican-American residents.

Very few underage mothers complete high school
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 15 out of every 1,000 young girls between the ages of 15 and 19 gave birth in 2020. This data does not include the birth rate by girls under the age of 15. Every state in America has registered a decline in the birth rate by minor girls, but it is at its highest level in Texas. According to the CDC, only about half of underage mothers complete high school, and even fewer earn degrees for higher education.
