Simultaneously, he has started earning credits towards a college degree. The name of this nine-year-old child is David Balogun. David earned his diploma from Reach Cyber Charter School in Harrisburg via distance learning.
According to a report in The Guardian, David credits his achievements to his many favorite teachers and his love for science and computer programming. David talked to WGAL, a TV channel in Pennsylvania and said that he already knows what he should do for a living. He said in an interview, ‘I want to become an astrophysicist, and I want to study black holes and supernovas.’
Even though David’s parents have advanced degrees, they admit that raising a child with such a prodigious mind is difficult. Talking to the channel, David’s mother Ronya Balogun said, ‘He is a 9-year-old child, whose mind has the ability to understand many concepts. Which is beyond his age and sometimes beyond my understanding.
David’s teachers acknowledged that they gained knowledge from their unusually gifted student. David’s science teacher Cody Derr said, ‘David is an inspirational kid. It definitely changes the way you think about teaching.’ The channel told that David is also a member of the Mensa High Intelligence Society. She has attended Bucks County Community College for one semester since graduating from Reach Charter School. Apart from education, David is preparing to earn a black belt in martial arts.
