Ajay Banga can be the next President of World Bank
US President Joe Biden has nominated
David Malpass resigned last week

New Delhi. US President Joe Biden on Thursday nominated former Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga to head the World Bank. He is currently the Vice Chairman of General Atlantic, one of the world’s largest private equity firms. Right now David Malpass is handling the command of the World Bank.

Malpas had announced a few days back that he would step down prematurely in the coming June. Malpas’ tenure of 5 years would end in April 2024. On the appointment of the new president, the US President said that Banga has a lot of experience in many important challenges of the world, including climate change, in view of which the US has decided to nominate his name.
