In an interview given to ABC News, this woman named Christina Pacheco told that after giving birth to a child through C-section last October, she had such an infection that both her hands and feet had to be amputated. Christina welcomed her baby boy via an uneventful C-section delivery. After which she was discharged from the hospital in Texas. But after coming back home, he felt fever and difficulty in breathing and then vomited.
At first they thought that these symptoms are of recovery after caesarean section. The nurse advised him to take ibuprofen. But still he felt the same way. After this she went to the doctor. From where he was immediately sent to the local emergency. From there he was immediately airlifted to San Antonio Hospital. Where it was found that he got septic shock. In this, the body gets greatly affected by any infection.
Christina told ABC, I just remember that I could not breathe and I could not see anything. Slowly I started fainting. I could only hear my husband, please come back. Our children, I need you. I need your help here with the kids. That’s the last thing I remember.
He spent two weeks in the ICU, breathing through a tube. But poor blood circulation in his hands and feet caused him so much damage that his hands and feet had to be amputated.
According to ABC News, in addition to the initial surgery to amputate her limbs, Christina revealed that she also underwent about a dozen skin grafts over several weeks as the skin around her limbs was damaged. He was kept in the hospital for two months from where he was then sent to the rehabilitation center.
