The official said that soon after President Joe Biden took office in January 2021, intelligence agencies had informed his national security team that China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was using logistics around the world as part of efforts to increase its influence globally. , expanding its infrastructure and intelligence gathering capabilities.

According to the official, the PLA has identified several places in this regard in the Atlantic Ocean, Latin America, the Gulf region, Central Asia, Africa and the Indian Pacific region. Earlier, ‘The Wall Street Journal’ newspaper in a news published on Thursday claimed an agreement between the two countries to set up China’s electronic espionage base in Cuba.

According to the newspaper, in exchange for the establishment of the spy base, China had agreed to pay billions of dollars to Cuba, which is facing economic crisis. However, the White House and Cuban officials had denied this news.
