According to CNN, at around 8:25 pm (local time), police received information about shots being fired at the music festival. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred at a campground near the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington. The suspected shooter fled the scene, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kyle Foreman. The foreman said the suspect opened fire on the crowd while fleeing. However, he was later taken into custody.

Foreman said that the George Amphitheater was hosting a two-day music festival called Beyond Wonderland at the time, and the campground was located several hundred yards from the venue. The Beyond Wonderland Festival continued despite the shooting. The campground also issued a statement after the incident. The campground said in a tweet on Saturday night, ‘Please avoid the George Gate H campground area as it is controlled by local authorities and closed due to an incident. There is no threat to the festival or the campgrounds.

The day’s performance was canceled after the incident.
On Sunday morning, the festival announced the cancellation of the day’s performances. Beyond Wonderland stated that ‘Due to the incident that occurred at the overflow camping area last night, we regret to inform you that the second day of Beyond Wonderland in George has been cancelled.’ The statement further said that ‘we would like to appreciate the local authorities and staff, who acted swiftly to handle the situation. Our condolences are with the victim’s family and all those affected by this tragic incident.
