Dubai. Time is running out like sand in the search for a tourist submarine that went missing on its way to see the wreckage of the historic Titanic ship in the Atlantic Ocean and till Thursday morning nothing was known about it. In this missing submarine named ‘Titan’, oxygen is left only for a few hours.

Rescuers have sent more ships to the missing site so that during the second day of searching for it, the sound from the underwater can help them to decide the direction of rescue. When the Titan left on its journey at 6 am on Sunday, the crew only had oxygen for four days.

Those who expressed hope for the safety of the five tourists aboard the Titan also warned of many obstacles, including locating the submarine, reaching it with rescue equipment, and bringing it to the surface, all aboard the submarine. This has to be done before the oxygen supply of the passengers runs out.

Rescuers are conducting rescue operations in an area twice the size of Connecticut at a depth of 13,200 feet. Captain Jamie Frederick of the First Coast Guard District said authorities still hoped to rescue the five passengers aboard the submarine. Oceanographer Donald Murphy said that the place in the North Atlantic Ocean where Titan went missing on Sunday is a sensitive area in terms of fog and storms, which has made it extremely challenging to conduct search and rescue operations there.

Meanwhile, allegations are surfacing that during the development of the submarine, several warnings were given regarding its safety. Frederick told that the sound coming from the sea has given a chance to limit the scope of search, but the exact location has not been known. He said, ‘Actually we don’t know what kind of voice it was.’

Stockton Rush, the CEO of the company leading the expedition to see the wreckage of the Titanic, a British billionaire, two members of a Pakistani business family and a Titanic expert are aboard the submarine. Oceangate Expeditions was monitoring this campaign. According to the company’s data, at least 46 people have successfully taken Oceangate’s submarine voyage to see the Titanic wreck in 2021 and 2022.

Retired German businessman Arthur Loibel, who had seen the wreckage of the Titanic, described the thrilling voyage two years ago as a “kamikaze (suicide) campaign”. He said, ‘Imagine there is a metal tube a few meters long. You can’t stand. You can’t kneel down. Everyone sits sticking to each other. There should not be any fear of sitting in a narrow place inside you.

He told that to save energy, the light is turned off in the submarine and only a fluorescent tube lights up. Arthur reported that his journey was repeatedly delayed due to battery problems and load balancing, and took a total of 10.5 hours. Passengers on board the submarine include British billionaire Hamish Harding, Pakistani national Prince Dawood and his son Suleiman and Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargiolet.
