Washington. Three people were killed and two seriously injured in a gunfight at a Chicago intersection on Sunday. According to police officials, the attack was carried out during a drag-racing caravan of over 100 cars. Three men have died in the firing. Two are 20-years-old and the age of one has not been disclosed, while two have been seriously injured, whose age is 19-year-old and 21-year-old.

Police officers were responding to complaints from a drag-racing caravan at a press conference. Chicago Police Department Commander Don Jerome said at around 4 a.m. the shooting began at an intersection in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the city’s southwest. Jerome said he had received information that several cars were speeding between an intersection and moving in tight circles. Around 100 cars had regained control of the intersection in the middle of the road. Later the officers got the ShotSpotter (Gunshot Detection System) gunshot detection alert.
Officers from one of the Police Department’s Strategic Decision Support Centers were monitoring the incident through a live video feed. As reported by ABC News, at least 13 shots were fired at the intersection, with some suddenly falling to the ground after firing began.
When police officers reached the spot without any delay, they found that five people had been shot and all were taken to hospitals in private vehicles. According to Jerome, four people with bullet injuries were taken to Holy Cross Hospital and one was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. On reaching the hospital, three people were declared brought dead, while the condition of two remains critical. Police said that two 20-year-old men were also among the dead. Officials did not reveal the age of the third person, while the two injured persons are 19-year-old and 21-year-old. Jerome said more than one gunman was involved. However, the police is still looking for the culprits.
