According to a report by news agency ANI, the accident occurred at around 5.30 am on Tuesday, when a Toyota Sienna and a Chevrolet Silverado collided on Route 7 near Pike Road in Berkshire County. Three Indian people present in Siena died on the spot. The deceased have been identified as 27-year-old Prem Kumar Reddy Goda, 22-year-old Pavani Gullapally and 22-year-old Sai Narasimha Patamsetty. While five others were admitted to the hospital.

“The State Police Detective Unit has informed the family members of the deceased and the Consulate General of India, New York about the accident,” the district attorney’s office said in a statement. Law enforcement has described the Indians present in Siena as international college students. 6 students were studying at New Haven University and 1 at Sacred Heart University. The State Police Detective Unit, assigned to the Sheffield Police Department and the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, is investigating the cause of the accident.
