Bali: Relations between the two countries have soured since US Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet today at the G20 Summit held in Indonesia to discuss macroeconomic issues between the world’s two largest economies. It is believed that both countries can also talk on Taiwan issues. According to Reuters, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning says that China wants a peaceful settlement with America.

According to a Bloomberg report, since Joe Biden became President, the two leaders will meet for the first time on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in Bali, Indonesia. Relations between the world’s two largest economies have deteriorated since Biden took office. Which includes economic competition, human rights issues and rising tensions between China and Taiwan. Biden said, ‘I know Xi Jinping, he knows me. There is very little misunderstanding between us. We only have to find out what are the reasons for increasing tension.

G20 Summit: 45 hours, 20 programs and talks with 10 leaders – PM Modi will be very busy in Indonesia

It is not yet clear whether India’s Prime Minister Modi will meet China’s President Xi or not. If there is a meeting between the two, it will be the first bilateral meeting after the violent clash between the armies of the two countries in the Galvan Valley in June 2020. The two leaders attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan in September, but there was no bilateral meeting between the two then. Three working sessions will be held as part of the G20 summit agenda, including food and energy security, health and digital transformation.

Apart from this, everyone’s eyes are fixed on the stand of the world leaders on the Russia-Ukraine war. Let us tell you that India has been advocating to stop the war and to hold talks between the two sides. Along with this, India has consistently kept a balanced line on this issue.
